PROBLEMS

This email message went viral in 2012, undoubtedly due to the provocative and false headline that it was written by a 21 yr. old female. The actual author was Alfred W. Evans, a 56-year-old resident of Gatesville, Texas, who wrote the letter to the local newspaper hoping to get others incensed about welfare abuse. When the letter unexpectedly was mailed across the country and became a phenomenon, he fessed up to his real identity.

Put me in charge of food stamps no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job. Put me in charge of Medicaid. Then, we'll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to use drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job. Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your 'home' will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a 'government' job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22-inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the 'common good.' Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before you say that this would be 'demeaning' and ruin their self-esteem,' consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self-esteem. If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices....

AND while you are on Gov't subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes, that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov't welfare check. In Hillary's 2016 campaign, she made explicit her plans for religious liberties:

Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed. [Emphasis added.]

People whose religious principles forbid such conduct would have been forced to fund abortions and to sanction same sex marriages. If they did not, they would have been subject to civil and criminal penalties, with their churches/synagogues losing their tax exempt status.

Make no mistake about it. Hillary believes in an all powerful government - one which can demand that parents must accept men entering their daughters' locker rooms.

Several Supreme Court cases in 2017 advanced conservative ideals. These cases included a ruling that states could not exclude churches from public aid for secular purposes and affirmed that naturalized citizens could lose their citizenship if they gained it through lying. The Court partially reinstated President Trump's travel ban.

The Democrats have obstructed at every opportunity,

Insisting on 30 hours of debate for candidates who normally would have been confirmed by voice votes. As of August, 2017, only 4 nominees had been approved.

To give you some idea of the quality of the criticism, consider California Democrat Senator Kamala Harris who tweeted:

Judge Gorsuch has consistently valued legalisms over real lives. I won't support his nomination.

Imagine - a judge who believes in "legalisms", who thinks his job is to apply the law! Senator Harris claims that should disqualify him.

Sadly, she is not alone. Democrat Senators Feinstein and Franken revealed their bias when they questioned nominee Gorsuch as to a judge's duty to fight for the "little guy " or to prejudge certain issues. A judge's duty is decide a case based on the Constitution and the pertinent statutes.

An egregious recent example of dishonesty in the nomination process was the American Bar Association [ABA] announcing that nominee Steve Grasz was “not qualified” to be a Federal judge, citing his criticism of abortion and other social issues. The ABA did not did not reveal its own conflict of interest. The ABA has supported those issues for decades. During the course of the interview of the nominee, the ABA committee members made reference to “you people”. When the nominee asked them what that meant, they explained “you people” were “conservatives or Republicans."

The Left's tactics are apparent. They hope to delay as many nominations as possible into 2018 they will claim no nominees should be confirmed in an election year. Their reasoning is faulty. That claim has been made in presidential election years, when the president's appointments to the Court are at issue. That is will not occur until 2020. And, thanks to the earlier votes eliminating the judicial filibuster, a simple majority rules.

LEGISLATORS NOT JUDGES

Rule of thumb

When you read of a judicial decision that seems unreasonable, google the judge. Nine times out of ten, the judge will be an Obama or Clinton appointee. those appointees are there to advance the Left agenda, not to reason to a legal decision.

The Democrat appointees to the US Supreme Court operate the same way. Where the GOP appointees occasionally differ from one another on conservative issues, not so the Democrats if a liberal agenda issue is involved. They vote as a bloc. They really need not show up for the argument; the outcome is foreordained. To prevail, the Republicans must secure five out of five, emphasizing the importance of the President's future appointments.

Syria
It did not take long for Syria to test President Trump. His response:
April 6, 2017- After the Syrian government used chemical weapons on its people, President Trump ordered a one-time airstrike against a Syrian air base, firing 60 cruise missiles at it. The U.S. destroyed about 20 Syrian jet planes and caused extremely heavy damage on the base. Defense Secretary James Mattis stated the attacks destroyed 20% of Syria's operational aircraft. As even the New York Times reported, Trump's action was a show of U.S. strength, and it was in stark contrast to Obama, as Trump used surprise and speed in the attacks.
World leaders supported the strong action. This was the first direct military action the U.S. took against the Assad regime.
On April 23, 2017, sanctions were imposed on 270 employees of Syria’s Scientific Studies and Research Center, which supported the nation's chemical weapons program.
On June 18, 2017, the United States shot down a Syrian aircraft for the first time, and in response to Russia's warnings, stated that it would do whatever in its national and military interests.

ISIS
BAGHDAD – Hundreds of ISIS fighters had just been chased out of a northern Syrian city and were fleeing through the desert in long convoys, presenting an easy target to U.S. A-10 "warthogs." But the orders to bomb the black-clad jihadists never came, and the terrorists melted into their caliphate -- living to fight another day.
The events came in August 2016, even as then-Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump was vowing on the campaign trail to let generals in his administration crush the organization that, under President Obama, had grown from the “jayvee team” to the world’s most feared terrorist organization.

Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia was the first country Trump visited abroad as U.S. President. King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud welcomed Trump at the tarmac... [BTW, the President did not bow to the Saudi king nor embark on an ‘apology tour'].

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates agreed to donate $100 million to a women entrepreneurs fund.
The U.S. and Saudi Arabia strengthened counterterrorism ties by enacting joint sanctions on two "global terrorists," and Saudi Arabia opened a center to combat Islamic terrorism. Several Arab nations cut ties with Qatar due to its support of Islamic terrorism.

Qatar
In an attempt to solve a diplomatic crisis between Qatar and several other Persian Gulf nations, the U.S. and Qatar signed an agreement for Qatar to increase its counterterrorism measures and to end funding for terrorist groups.
Iran
In addition to the United Nations actions described above, the UNITED STATES took other actions. After Iran tested a ballistic missile in apparent violation of a UN Security Council resolution, the Trump Administration instituted unilateral economic sanctions against 13 Iranian individuals and 12 companies. It imposed additional sanctions on an Iranian national, an Iranian company, a Chinese national, and three Chinese companies dealing with Iran's nuclear program.
In October, the Trump Administration announced a tougher comprehensive strategy against Iran, with the Treasury Department enacting terrorism-related sanctions on Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

China
President Trump stated that he did not blame China for understandably taking advantage of the U.S. in helping create America's massive trade deficit with China, as U.S. leaders should not have allowed themselves to have been taken advantage of in the first place.
China announced it would reduce shipments of refined petroleum products to North Korea to two million barrels per year. Crude oil is the driver of North Korea's nuclear program. U.S. sanctions have helped to disrupt 90 percent of North Korean trade and 30 percent of oil imports.
Ambassaror Haley noted that North Korea came to the negotiating table shortly after China briefly cut off oil shipments in 2003. "We need China to do more...That would be a pivotal step in the world's effort to stop this international pariah."

Trump attended the Three Seas Initiative, an alliance of 12 nations in Central and Eastern Europe, and promoted the U.S. as an energy export.
Poland
Poland was the first European nation to receive an official visit by President Trump - a sign of support for its conservative and Euroskeptic government. Trump met with Polish President Andrzej Duda: "We’ve never been closer to Poland than we are right now."
In front of 15,000 supporters at the Warsaw Uprising Monument, Trump praised Western values:"Do we have the confidence in our values to defend them at any cost? Do we have enough respect for our citizens to protect our borders? Do we have the courage to preserve our civilization in the face of those who would subvert and destroy it?"
He affirmed American NATO duties and military support for Poland, and criticized government bureaucracy and regulations: “The West became great not because of paperwork and regulations but because people were allowed to chase their dreams and pursue their destinies....we put faith and family, not government and bureaucracy, at the center of our lives…the people of Poland, the people of America, and the people of Europe still cry out ‘We want God’”
Ukraine
Trump met with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. The United States and Ukraine agreed to have the U.S. export coal to Uraine, so the latter could gain energy independence from Russia.
Russia
President Trump was not cowed by Putin.
In April, the Trump Administration announced the implementation of the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act, which blacklisted certain Russian citizens and refused to issue waivers to any companies which wanted to do business with Russia, which was under economic sanctions, including ExxonMobil, which had applied for a waiver.
The U.S. Treasury Department imposed sanctions on 38 Russian individuals and entities involved in the conflict with Ukraine.
In July, Trump met with Putin and the US and Russia announced a ceasefire in Syria's war.

CHECKING THE UNITED NATIONS

For decades, the United States has spent billions supporting the United Nations, without which the UN would not exist. In return, the UN has treated the US with contempt.

Ramirez sums it up.

The Trump Administration made clear that it there would be a new approach to the UN. He criticized letting governments that commit human rights abuses sit on the U.N. Human Rights Council. Vice President Mike Pence spoke at the UN, criticizing the institution, citing specifics. The Trump Administration announced the U.S. would withdraw from UNESCO because of its anti-Israel bias.

President Trump, as with General Mattis, commendably selected the best person for the job, even though she had been critical of him during the campaign - Nikki Haley to be UN Ambassador. She quickly established that she would contest that group's unfairness, as no other ambassador since Jeanne Kirkpatrick has done.

The President set the tone

I have never taken kindly to bullies and the UN has bullied Israel for a very long time and we are not going to let that happen anymore.

And Ambassador Haley affirmed it.

After the election, before President Trump took office, in a stunning betrayal, Obama and Kerry, abstained from a vote on a UN resolution condemning Israel.

Ambassador Haley has spoken out with candor with impressive results.

Haley described the U.N.’s animus toward Israel as 'ridiculous' and confirmed that 'the days of Israel-bashing are over,' ...'you’re not going to take our No. 1 democratic friend in the Middle East and beat up on them. ...she got the U.N. to refrain from placing a former prime minister of the Palestinian Authority into a top-level position: 'What it means is, until the Palestinian Authority comes to the table, until the U.N. responds the way they’re supposed to, there are no freebies for the Palestinian Authority anymore.' She also demanded that the U.N. withdraw a report from the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia that labeled Israel an apartheid state — and withdraw it they did: ... 'the Falk Report, ...compares Israel to an apartheid state. .. absolutely ridiculous. ... The secretary general ... And then the director has now resigned.' . She also expressed a commitment to reverse the Obama-era trend of playing softball with Iran and Russia in the Middle East: ... While she cannot reverse it now, Haley did criticize the Obama administration’s abstention allowing Resolution 2334 to pass. ... its adoption 'showed the United States at its weakest point ever.. .in the U.N.' ... renewed American leadership ... Prior Presidents have given lip service to moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem. The Trump Administration acted!

WITHDRAWING FROM UN PROGRAMS

The United Nations' New York Declaration for Refugees and Migrants was recognized by the Obama administration last year. It sought to impose guidelines on the acceptance of various ''migrants' and 'refugees' by member nations.

Ambassador Haley:

Our decisions on immigration policies must always be made by Americans and Americans alone. We will decide how best to control our borders and who will be allowed to enter the country.

Refreshing is it not ? The UN was told in no uncertain terms the new management was not going to be bound by agreements entered into by the Obama administration which carry the force of treaties but are not approved by Congress.

The Trump administration has pulled the United States out of several international agreements reached under President Barack Obama, including the Paris climate accord and UNESCO.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley cheered cuts to the UN's peacekeeping budget Wednesday, adding "Just 5 months into our time here, we've cut over half a billion $$$ from the UN peacekeeping budget & we're only getting started." [Emphasis added.]

Cuba

The United Nations General Asssembly voted 191 to 2 condemning the U.S. embargo of Cuba.

Ambassador Haley's courage in expressing her convictions is inspiring. Equally impressive is President Trump's ability to listen to differing opinions from his advisers and make his own decision and, in doing so, to take the advice of someone who had been critical of him. That is an action of a good leader.

From published reports, it was Haley who paved the way for decertification of compliance under the Iran agreeement.

Other Cabinet members urged caution. Trump had grudgingly declared Tehran in compliance with the 2015 Iran nuclear deal earlier in the month, at the urging of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defense James Mattis. Trump hated the deal. But the two men pushed him to certify it, arguing in part that he lacked a strong case for declaring Iran in violation....Haley, in that July meeting, which also included national security adviser H.R. McMaster and Vice President Mike Pence, asked the president to let her make the case for decertification. ...Haley flew to the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Association, where she pressed officials about Iranian compliance with the deal...

OTHER ACTIONS WITH THE UN

Haley revealed during a speech at the United Nations headquarters in New York City that President Donald Trump called Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday morning to tell him the time has come for China to cut off crude oil supplies to North Korea.'We now turn to President Xi to also take that stand. We believe he has an opportunity to do the right thing for the benefit of all countries.' ....China announced in September it would reduce shipments of refined petroleum products to North Korea to 2 million barrels per year. ...'We need China to do more...' September -The United States successfully and unanimously passed another UN Security Council resolution that established new sanctions against North Korea.

In sum, it is quite an improvement to have a strong and consistent policy after two terms of Obama's shifting red lines and vacillations.

Perhaps the most vicious lie was Bill Clinton’s repeated assertion that that Voter ID laws are racist. The claim was and is made that that the poor and minorities do not have IDs. But the Voter ID laws provide a simple way for anyone to obtain one from the local governments without charge. The elites, combining arrogance with ignorance, reject that as beyond the capabilities of those voters. Cal Thomas noted: "...poor and minority people are so inept that they can't apply for an identification card? If that is their position, how are they able to apply for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program) benefits, which require a photo ID? Why is voting the one category in which you don't have to prove your citizenship and legal residence?... Ashe Schow of The Washington Examiner compiled a list of 24 things that require a photo ID. You must have a photo ID if you are 25 or under and wish to purchase alcohol or cigarettes. Store signs say so. Want to open a bank account? Photo ID required. Here are the rest of the categories: applying for welfare, Medicaid and Social Security (presumably poor people take advantage of one or more of these programs); unemployment benefits (ditto); rent/buy a house, or apply for a mortgage; drive/buy/rent a car; get on an airplane; get married; buy a gun; adopt a pet; rent a hotel room; apply for a hunting or fishing license; buy a cellphone; visit a casino; pick up a prescription (or buy restricted over-the-counter medications); donate blood; apply for a license to hold a demonstration; buy an "M"-rated video game; purchase nail polish at CVS. Again, why is voting placed in a separate category? Why are liberal groups determined to repeal laws requiring proof of citizenship and residence? NUMEROUS WAYS TO COMMIT VOTER FRAUD

Remember the old joke: My dad lived in Chicago his whole life and voted Republican until the day he died. Since then, he‘s always voted Democrat.

It is no joke - dead people are on the voting rolls.

Felons are not eligible to vote, yet they vote in the thousands. That was one of the frauds that elected Al Franken in 2008 and thus gave the 60th vote to Obamacare. Think on that - without the fraud, there would be no Obamacare and all of its attendant problems.

The day after the November election, Republican Senator Norm Coleman had won his re-election to the U.S. Senate, beating challenger Al Franken by 725 votes. Then one heavily Democratic town miraculously discovered 100 missing ballots. In another marvel, they were all for Al Franken! It was like a completely evil version of a Christmas miracle. As strange as it was that all 100 post-election, "discovered" ballots would be for one candidate, it was even stranger that the official time stamp for the miracle ballots printed out by the voting machine on the miracle ballots showed that the votes had been cast on Nov. 2 -- two days before the election. Democratic election officials in the miracle-ballot county simply announced that the date stamp on their voting machine must have been broken. Don't worry about it -- they were sure those 100 votes for Franken were legit. Next, another 400-odd statistically improbable 'corrections' were made in other Democratic strongholds until -- by the end of election week -- Coleman's lead had been whittled down to a mere 215 votes. Since then, highly irregular counting methods have added to Franken's total bit by bit, to the point that Coleman is now ahead by only 188 votes. [Emphasis added.]

They kept recounting until Franken came out ahead by 325 votes, including votes from 1700 felons.

Should you have a doubt that the overwhelming majority of felons vote Democrat, this link should eliminate that doubt. Loretta Lynch, Obama's Attorney General, wants all felons to vote in all states!

Then there are votes cast by non citizens. Democrat states have facilitated this fraud, issuing drivers licences to illegal immigrants which are used to obtain ballots. Again, the overwhelming majority of those votes will go Democrat.

Early voting. People can now vote before election day, often as much as month earlier. That allows organizations to pressure people to cast their vote without being fully informed. Often, material facts come to light in the closing days. The early vote does not promote an informed electorate.

Electronic voting, the process lends itself to manipulation. In many states, the electronic voting is in the care of the Service Employee International Union [SEIU] which gives millions of dollars to Democrats. The machines have been been found to turn votes pressed for a Republican ticket into votes for Democrats. It factored in Harry Reid's eleventh hour turn-around in the 2014 senate election.

What raises a cloud of suspicion over Harry Reid’s victory by nearly six percentage points is that he actually had been the underdog. Four separate Rasmussen polls prior to the election had Angle ahead. Two weeks before the big day, she was up 50% to 47%. A week later, she’d extended her lead to 49%-45%. In other words, the pendulum had swung in Reid’s favor by at least 10 points in the final week. That’s a rather odd turn of events amid a Republican landslide. [Emphasis added.]

In sum, fraud is rampant and the Left is glad for it.

PRESIDENT TRUMP'S COMMISSION

Early on in his administration, President Trump took steps to expose the fraud and return integrity to the election process.

Pipelines

January, 2017 Trump signed two orders reviving the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipeline projects, which Obama halted due to supposed environmental concerns. In March, the Keystone XL Pipelines was approved and the Dakota Access Pipeline went into service by June.

In addition, Trump signed three other orders, one requiring the United States Secretary of Commerce make a plan within six months mandating all new or improved pipelines be made with American steel, another order requiring every federal agency to streamline manufacturing regulations, and the third allowing fast-track approval for important infrastructure projects.

Spending reductions

Trump's White House 2017 payroll was $5.1 million lower than the Obama's 2015 payroll, employed 110 fewer employees than Obama, and did not employ any policy "czars." Melania Trump employed four people in 2017 with a combined annual salary of $486,700, compared to Michelle Obama's 16 employees [her press secretary stated in 2009 that she actually employed a record-breaking 24 people] and a combined annual salary of $1.24 million in 2009.

The Environmental Protection Agency ended a $1 million program where it gave gym memberships to its employees, ending the program due to an abuse of taxpayer money.

Red tape regulations

Executive orders to loosen federal regulations for job-training programs to encourage apprenticeships and vocational learning; order facilitating legal immigration of STEM students here on visas to obtain advanced degrees from our universities. [STEM is a curriculum in 4 specific disciplines: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics]; disbanded the federal labor-management council, which was created by President Obama, as a waste of time and taxpayer dollars; directed Treasury Secretary Mnuchin to look at the U.S. tax code and recommend the removal of unnecessary regulations and directed him to conduct a review of portions of the Dodd-Frank law; facilitated the removal of Federal employees.

Health care

The Department of Health and Human Services rescinded an Obama-era directive that had allowed states to request a waiver to ignore work requirements for the poor in order to receive welfare; President Trump repealed an Obama-era regulation, permitting the states to expand drug testing for unemployment benefit applicants. Another order expanded access to plans that reach across state lines and which do not have to comply with ObamaCare rules. The Trump Administration stopped paying Obamacare subsidies, which were ruled unconstitutional.

The coal industry experienced a rebound at the beginning of Trump's presidency, after "the historic lows reached during the Obama era. Congressional Review bill annulling an Obama Administration regulation that would have prohibited states from discriminating in awarding Title X family planning funds based on whether the local clinic also performs abortions (some states adopted rules which distribute federal family planning funds on the condition that the organizations do not perform abortions). UP AGAINST MEDIA BIAS

What has changed most in my lifetime is the radicalization of the mass media. In the Fifties, we knew the Washington Post was liberal, the Chicago Tribune was conservative, and the New York Times was right down the middle. Nowadays, all three of those sources are 'liberal" but not in the sense of the word as used in the Fifties. No, 'radical' is what they would have been termed then. It has intensified to crazed proportions since Trump's unexpected triumph in 2016.

But bias has been present for decades. Take a look at this picture,

Notice anything strange? Yes, the Republican states are shown in in blue.

Partisan media changed it to show Democrats as blue. They did not want the Democrats associated with the color red, as in Communists referred to as Reds. But it sure fit the Democrats given their Left-ish positions.

The story goes that the change was made by TV reporter Tim Russert, who had worked for Democrat Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan. No surprise, it was embraced by the liberal media. “This unofficial system of political colors used in the United States is the reverse of that in most other long-established democracies, where blue represents right-wing and conservative parties, and red represents left-wing and social democratic parties.” [Emphasis added.] Naive as always, Republicans went along; there is even a Republican-leaning opinion site called RedState.com. 'Naive' doesn't do it; how about dumb.

But miss he did. Usually the misses occurred as a result of his efforts to 'work with' the LEFT and/or the Never Trumpers.

He campaigned on straight repeal of Obamacare but fell for pursuing an Obamacare-Lite. That is a no-win strategy. It gets the Left off the hook for the mess they created and results in the Republicans taking ownership of the problems. Fortunately,it did not pass and he has a chance to make right on his campaign promise.

However, although he promoted a 15% corporate tax, he did not insist upon it after his election. Rather he attempted to cooperate with the GOP establishment and we wound up with the current competing and confusing complex tax reform "packages," which have sparked unneeded controversy damaging to his agenda. He should have taken the 15% separately, and had it passed as a revenue measure. It would have sparked the economy, funding other measures, and allowed for careful considerations of reforms step by step.

Perhaps added to misses are sometimes backing less than stellar GOP candidates. I am inclined to chalk that up to a duty as the head of the party.

His "tweets" are often outrageous. But I wonder if they are really a mistake.

They take him a minute and he moves on. Consider: they send the Left into a frenzy. The Left spend hours, days, weeks, attacking him for the tweets rather than focusing on real issues. Their obsession brings the President's tweets to the attention of the people and arouses curiosity so they to go to the tweets to see what all the fuss was about. There they see the other entries and learn about the President's substantive agenda. In sum, they enable Trump to get past the mass media barrier!

When I conceived of this blog, I knew the Left disparaged everything the President did, so I was sure they had ignored some real accomplishments which I intended to list.

Six game changers

Pass this first and separately. It is a revenue measure and so takes only 51 votes. It is popular, guaranteed to pass, and will spark economic growth.

Obamacare repeal

Repeal first and replace later. It keeps a major campaign promise. Obamacare is in a 'death spiral,' and will collapse of its own weight. Then replace using free market solutions.

Rescind the filibuster as to legislative measures

Unless it is rescinded, the Democrats will use this unconstitutional procedure to block the President from fulfilling his campaign promises. 52 Republican Senators lose if the requirement is 60 votes but they win if 51 is the measure.

CONCLUSION

During the 2016 campaign, I authored two blogs emphatically stating the Donald Trump should not be the candidate. I was wrong. President Trump made me a convert. The foregoing sets forth abundant reasons for that.

The Left, through the mass media, will never recognize the President's accomplishments. Undeterred by principles of truth, logic or decency, they will either ignore or misrepresent any fact which does not fit their agenda. They are willfully dishonest.
