AND NOT ONLY CATHOLICS –

This is not the democrat party of our fathers or grandfathers. John F. Kennedy and Robert F.Kennedy would not recognize these democrats.
These democrats have spelled out what they are going to do. Here is the pertinent text of their platform on abortion [Note they never use the word ‘abortion’ or explain how killing infants in utero is “health care”]

Democrats are committed to protecting and advancing reproductive health, rights, and justice. We believe unequivocally, like the majority of Americans, that every woman should have access to quality reproductive health care services, including safe and legal abortion …We believe that reproductive health is core to women’s, men’s, and young people’s health and wellbeing. We will continue to stand up to Republican efforts to defund Planned Parenthood health centers, which provide critical health services to millions of people. We will continue to oppose—and seek to overturn—federal and state laws and policies that impede a woman’s access to abortion, including by repealing the Hyde Amendment. …. We will defend the ACA, which extends affordable preventive health care to women, including no cost contraception, … We will address the discrimination and barriers that inhibit meaningful access to reproductive health care services, …"
If Hillary wins, she gets her 5th liberal Supreme Court Justice and she will not have to worry about votes in the legislature. The Court will “enact’ the lib agenda. [ARCHIVE 2]
And Hillary has made plain what she intends with religious liberties.
“Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.”
Guess who are in the cross-hairs.
Catholics and other religious will be forced to fund abortions and to sanction same sex marriages and, if they do not, they will be subject to civil and criminal penalties, with the churches/synagogues losing their tax exempt status.
PEOPLE MUST BE INFORMED
Previously I urged the making of an ad to show people what abortion really is.
Issue 4: AN AD TO SHAME THE ABORTION FANATICS
If shown just once on each of ABC, CBS,CNN and NBC, it would go viral and the world would see the brutal facts.
I have sent this proposed ad to 300 individuals and organizations including clergy and religious groups. None has acted. They are content to remain in their comfort zones and plow familiar furrows preaching to their choirs, not changing opinions. If Paul Revere were riding and shouting to alert the citizens that the British are coming, these folks, rather than springing to arms, would be closing the windows to shut out the noise interfering with their sleep.

We must concentrate on the outcome. Ads, such as the one proposed, show in pictures the inhumanity and barbarity of abortion. When people see these pictures, they are repulsed Minds are changed.
The tip-off: democrats do not want those pictures shown. We must not allow the other side to dictate what we may say in making the case for life.
The proposed ad’s efficacy has been confirmed by the responses I have received; e.g., a well-connected DC friend stated: “It is a powerful presentation. It would change hearts and minds if it aired.” ; a liberal friend told me: “I hope it never gets shown; it is too damn effective.”
The ad has an additional significant benefit: it demonstrates the hypocrisy and the falsity of democrats' claim they are compassionate.
THE UNEXPECTED PROBLEM
Religious groups cooperated to elect Obama, apparently believing his rhetoric that his election would be a unifying force to improve everyone's lives. Ironically, that cooperation was particularly enthusiastic on the part of the Catholic Church
Remember Notre Dame giving one of its highest honors to the new President Obama? In response to criticism that Notre Dame was rewarding the most pro-abortion administration in history, the Holy Cross Fathers, in an open letter, asked:
“How are we Catholics to go about getting ourselves to be taken seriously by our government leaders? “
Is not the answer apparent? Assume a politician knows he can act against the interest and values of a group [here, Catholics] and still be honored by that group; assume he knows that, if he acts similarly against another group,[here the democrats], that group will criticize him, and contribute money, effort and passion to defeat him. To which group is the politician more likely to be responsive?
And what in fact did happen? Did the democrats’ treatment of Catholics improve? Did the democrats stop nominating and confirming pro-abortion Supreme Court Justices? Or did they continue to dish out more of the same, including the HHS mandate, part of the most vicious attack by our government on religion in our lifetime. And, as noted, HIllary has promised to top that.
But that lesson escaped Cardinal Dolan, who not only gave the benediction at the 2012 democratic convention, he invited Barack Obama as his guest at the Al Smith dinner a few weeks before the election. Predictably, every major newspaper in the country prominently displayed a picture of Cardinal Dolan, laughing uproariously next to a smiling Obama.
This is not a laughing matter. How do we convince Catholics, let alone non-Catholics, that the HHS mandate is evil, given that picture?
And, of course, the President took advantage of the opportunity to claim he admires Catholics, thus reducing the deprivation of constitutional rights to a mere political difference of opinion. President Obama, and the world concluded, not unreasonably, that the rights of Catholics and other religious may be violated with impunity.
The situation reminds me of a comic strip from my youth: The Katzenjammer Kids. It featured two mischievous boys, Hans and Fritz, who would be disciplined for their pranks with a spanking in the last panel. Looking on was their cousin, Little Lena, who stated what should be said of the Church and clergy: "They brought it on themselves."
ACTION ITEMS
Hillary isn't kidding: “Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.”
It is her promise to bring the brunt of the law against Catholics and all who believe religious liberty is guaranteed them, who believe that they should not be forced to fund the slaughter of the innocents by abortion-on-demand or be forced to sanction same sex marriages.
Hillary believes in an all powerful government - one which even can demand that parents must accept men entering their daughters' locker rooms.
We must act.

2. We must not stay on the sidelines. Father Frank Pavone's organization Priests for Life prints election materials which meet all the the legal requirements for distribution by churches and other 501(c) (3) entities. The materials are made available for distribution by priests, ministers, rabbis, individuals, churches, synagogues, temples et al. It is up to us. We can take inspiration from Martin Luther King’s words:

What Hillary promises to do if she is elected is not right. It is up to us to do everything we can to preserve our religious liberty. We will not get another chance.
